Ingredients
12 cake cases
1 1/2 cups of Self Raising flour
1/2 cup of chocolate chips
1/2 cup of castor sugar
100g butter, melted
1/2 cup of milk
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp vanilla essence
12 smarties or m & m's
12 marshmallows
Icing - 20g butter, 1/2 tsp vanilla essence, a couple of drops of food coloring, 1 1/4 cups of icing sugar plus 1 tblsp of boiling water.

Let’s get started...

Preheat the oven to 200'c, 180`c if fan assisted.

Line a 12 cup cake tray with the cases

Place the flour, caster sugar, choc chips, into a mixing bowl, making a well in the middle

Add the butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla. Using a large spoon, mix until combined.

Spoon 2 heaped tablespoons of mixture into each muffin case

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a skewer inserted in the centre of one cake comes out clear. Stand for 5 minutes then transfer to a wire cooling rack to cool.

While the cakes are cooling make the icing

place the icing sugar, butter, vanilla essence and boiling water into a bowl. stir a little, then add the food coloring

Stir until smooth.

Spread each cake with the icing

Cut the marshmallows in half so you have two round circles

Place the marshmallows on each cupcake with a smartie or m & m in the middle to form your butterflies.
