Simple Beef Stroganoff

Serves 4
1kg beef round steak
1/2 cup flour.
1/2 tsp mustard
2 onions, thinly sliced
227g fresh mushrooms sliced
1 pint beef stock
1/2 cup of dry white wine or cooking wine
227g sour cream
Sprinkle of salt and pepper

   

 

  • In a bowl, combine 1/2 cup flour, mustard and a little salt & pepper, then toss the steak in the mix.
  • Place the steak in the slow cooker.
  • Cover with the mushrooms and onions.
  • Add the beef stock and wine.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
  • Serve with some sour cream.

 

(This can be cooked on a stove top, bring to the boil and then simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Stir occasionally & top with water if required)
