Apple and Sultana Slices

1 1/4 cups of self raising flour
1 cup of milk
1 cup sugar
1 cup desiccated coconut
1 apple diced into small pieces
1/2 cup sultanas
1 teaspoon of cinnamon

 

 

 

 

  • Grease and line a slice tray
  • Preheat the oven to 180`c
  • Sift the flour into a large mixing bowl
  • Add the apple, coconut, sugar, sultanas and cinnamon
  • Stir to combine
  • Gradually add the milk, mixing until the mixture has a firm consistency
  • Scoop the mixture into the tray and spread evenly
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean and the top is golden

This recipe for Apple and Sultana Slices is a lovely simple recipe that I helped some of the children at my son’s school to make in a cooking lesson.  We all enjoyed making and eating them, I am sure you will too!
Also try swapping the sultanas for chopped dates or apricots for a change.
