Crunchy Nut Snack

Makes 12
200g rolled oats
55g chopped mixed nuts
55g plain flour
115g unsalted butter
80g soft brown sugar
2 tablespoons of golden syrup (or honey)
55g chocolate chips (we like the white)

 

 

  • Preheat the oven to 180`c. Grease and line a baking tray about 9" square is ideal
  • Mix together the oats, nuts and flour in a mixing bowl
  • Place the butter, sugar & syrup in a large saucepan and gently heat until the butter melts and sugar dissolves then turn off the heat
  • Add the dry ingredients to the pan and mix well 
  • Stir in the chocolate chips
  • Turn the mixture into your prepared tray and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden and firm to touch
  • Using a knife mark into 12 triangles and leave to cool in the tin

Okay, maybe a little bit naughty, but extremely nice!
