Easy Oat Biscuits

Makes approx 30

125g butter
125g sugar
1 tablespoon golden syrup
125g self raising flour sifted
250g rolled oats
5ml of bicarbonate of soda dissolved in 4 tablespoons of boiling water

 

 

 

 

  • Preheat the oven to 180`c
  • Grease and line a couple of baking trays
  • Cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy
  • Beat in the syrup
  • Gradually add the flour, oats and soda mixture to form a stiff dough
  • Roll the dough into walnut sized balls and space them well apart on the baking trays then press them down flat
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until brown and crisp

This Easy Oat Biscuit recipe is a hit in our house.  Quick and simple to make, plus your home will smell lovely.  I’m off to enjoy my biscuit now with a cappuccino!
